Garage Sale! Items needed!
Missionaries trying to raise some funds!
That about sums it up, myself and two others are having a garage sale this Saturday to raise some money for an upcoming mission trip to Mexico. If you've got items that you just sitting around, we'd love to help you unload! You can either drop items off or we can possibly pick them up (this one might be a little tricky since none of us have a truck). So, if you care to help us in any way, please email me (link is at the top of the page).
Speaking of missionaries and that sort of work...what an exciting week I've had! Last Monday Joel Vestal (my boss) came to town for two days of training. Yeah, it was a whirlwind and I'm sure I'm more confused than ever about what I'm doing. At least I have a bigger picture of some of the computer work. We are still in need of an office space, and I've had some great brainstorming ideas; one was to use a motor home. Not a bad thought - any offers? So, Joel leaves town and later that day I do the same, this time to visit the US Center for World Missions in Pasadena, CA. Talk about a wonderful place to be. We stayed on the campus, met with some leaders in the missions’ movement and planned out trips for the next 18 months. Then Monday night I was invited to a dinner with a guy who has been reaching Muslims in France. What inspiring stories. All this combined with the Perspectives class I'm taking on Tuesday nights really stokes the fires of passion to get out there. I am so glad I'm not feeling too burned from my year away and that it is still something I really want to return to. But for now, it's focusing on the task at hand and for me that's getting the ServLife International office in Las Vegas set up. Which means: I need to get to sleep.
