16 Hours

That's about how long we were without power. Around 5 I checked the outside temperature (it was 93 inside). In the sun, it was just at 118 and in the shade a little cooler. I'm impressed with my level of tolerance. A few weeks ago these temps would have left me a puddle on the floor. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of sweating going on. But I was adapting. Around 9 pm, still no power, I heard my inverter alarm going off - more was being drawn than it could handle. Off went the last light. A few minutes later it started up again. There went the fan, and I lit a candle. Well, I had light and was still able to use my computer, though I was feeling a little miserable. I couldn't help but think about the dishes that needed to be washed once there was power to pump the water into my storage tank and how would I possibly sleep with the heat and no fan (though I reminded myself that I managed just fine, sorta, when I lived in Bihar). And then, I heard it, the click indicating that power was on and all would be okay. :) Voltage was low, but enough for lights and the fan, and even squeezed out a little cool air from the A/C for my bedroom. Dishes were washed, I showered and started a load of laundry. It was still warm, but not unbearable. A few more unusually outages throughout the night, but today I think we are back on track...until the next time the transformer goes. There just isn't enough power for this state and being as populated as it is, you'd think it would get a little more attention. But, it is what it is and I'm thankful for the power that I get.
