After a week in Delhi, we returned to our city; just long enough to do some laundry and repack. This time we were headed to the Himalayan foothills to a city called Mussoorie. The direct trains were booked, so we took one to a nearby city, spent the night and then caught another train to another city and then a car for another hour or so ride. When we got to the house we are staying at (my friend was friends with their daughter in the US) there was a bit of a climb, four switch backs to be exact. :) I questioned if I would have packed lighter knowing I'd need to carry my bag all that way...probably not.
The location is amazing, it overlooks more hills and valleys, lots of green and monkeys too. To get to the language school, I take a taxi. You could walk, but it's a steep climb and too hard on my knees. But I still get in plenty of exercise. Initially I was taking 4 classes, but it was just too much. My friends and I did a little switching so I had one class that was one-on-one and they also got one that was more personalized. After a week I realized the pace was a little too fast for me and that I was missing things. So after some prayer and talking with one of my instructors, I decided to finish up the week with only one instructor. I'm learning so much and being pushed hard. Some days I am amazed I even remember how to say my name.
