First, I want to start this by saying I stand in awe of how God works. I'd just met yesterday afternoon with friends for a time of prayer and worship and one of the things I asked for prayer on was this house I so wanted. There's just a wonderful feel to it. Of course, it's brand new and never been lived in, so in many ways (beyond the earthly stuff) it feels very un-touched. I don't know how else to say it, but it's peaceful. I've been trying for over two weeks to talk to the owner who is out of town for most of the week and only has Sundays for all his business in my city. I was thinking maybe he really doesn't want me in it and is avoiding me. We had barely finished when his two adult children came over to tell me that their father would be available to talk with me after 7 that evening! Huge praise!
I'd also shared that my back and hips were in so much pain. I'd decided I needed a different mattress, so Dan went down and made the arrangements to have one delivered.
Back to the house (because this really has me so excited). When we met, he had me walk through and see the newest editions to it, the lighting, the colors of the walls, the fixtures etc. The two bedrooms are already fitted for window A/C units (including the necessary plugs). And the sitting room is already equipped for something called a split-level unit. Most kitchen counters I've seen are low, creating an aching back when you cook or do the dishes - mine is not short, but typical American height. And the colors of the paint are wonderful. Not sure they are what I would have selected, but I really enjoy them and the feel they give to the rooms. After lots of talking - he kept saying how much his children liked me, insisting that their father rent the space only to me (I'm very flattered and glad that I took the time to meet with them as I did in the past), a deposit was made and if all goes well, I'll be moved-in in about three weeks!!! Once I get in there, I'll be sure to share some pictures with you. So, when you think of it, praise God with me in this huge blessing.
