I’ve returned to My American Way
Ha! I can imagine what some of you must be thinking. Let me reassure you (because I know some will need assurance), I never quit using TP, therefore, there’s nothing to return to in that area. ☺ No, I’m talking about my nose post. In the US I tried to wear the smallest fleck of a post I could find. But for Christmas, the Perryman kids gave me an Indian post. It’s a had a pretty little cluster of bling and then a small strand (maybe ¼”) that sorta rounded down to the end of my nose. The post is a much thicker grade, so getting it in hurt. Then there’s a back to it that just wouldn’t work for me – I think my piercing is too far back. So I wore it without. But the metal started bothering my nose, and some of the bling had fallen out, so I stopped wearing it after a few days.
I decided I’d replace it with a gold one (cheaper than my surgical steel post from the US). It was hilarious getting the back on – Darla had to help, using manicure scissors to hold it and try to place it on the post from inside my nostril – that’s friendship. We got a lot of laughs out of it. Then my cold and sinus infection hit and the backing was just too much trouble. So I removed it, and bent the post a little to keep it in (perhaps this is too much information for people, but I felt it was time for a lighter, more humorous blog). The other day I felt that the hassle of making sure it was still in was not worth it anymore. So, I’m back to the post I arrived here in.
And now you have a better understanding as to why this blog is called “Mo’s Meanderings”…
noun (usu. meanders)
a winding curve or bend of a river or road: the river flows in sweeping meanders.
• [in sing.] a circuitous journey, esp. an aimless one : a leisurely meander around the twisting coastline road.
• an ornamental pattern of winding or interlocking lines, e.g., in a mosaic.
I like the mosaic part; life is a mosaic – all the tiny pieces fit together, creating who we are.
